Our Mission
In our custom Adventure stories, kids take on the roles of heroes and work together using their sword-dueling skills, , long and short term planning skills, teamwork, social skills, problem solving and critical thinking to work their way through each week’s adventure. Our mission is to help kids build physical, mental and social confidence while encouraging them to be their own heroes while providing them with a fun and engaging experience.
Extraordinary Experiences
We have been running summer day camps at Chautauqua Park for over 25 years. While our main goal is to provide an amazing and fun experience for your kids, we’re very pleased to report that many of our former campers who are now in college or adults with families of their own have told us what an extraordinary and positive experience Sword Camp was for them.
Our Core Values
The Adventure Education Company’s Sword Camps are owned and managed by Tom Matthews. As a company, we are dedicated to the principles of integrity, personal responsibility, trust and kindness. All of our staff were kids that grew up in our programs and we strive to provide a healthy, bully-free environment where the kids feel safe and welcome, but are also challenged in positive ways that promote healthy mental and social growth. We have an amazing staff and a ridiculously low turn-over rate. We understand that to many of our campers, we are role-models and that is a tremendous responsibility that is not to be taken lightly.
